(30/04/07) The 24th edition of the Kassel Documentary Film and Video Festival, which takes place between 13 and 18 November, is accepting submissions until 01 August. Over a six-day period, the festival presents about 220 international documentary films as well as experimental and artistic works. Moreover, the media art exhibition MONITORING, the DokfestLounge with audiovisual performances and the interfiction symposium, top off the festival programme. The Kasseler Dokfest annually attracts both a regional audience as well as professionals of the film and media industry from Germany, Europe and the rest of the world. There is no entry fee.

The Media Art Friesdland in the Netherlands is also accepting submissions to its next edition in September. The organisers describe the event as "the international platform for audiovisual arts, as video, film, new media, sound, installations and internet in the north of the Netherlands." Deadline: 1 June. No entry fee charged.

Finally, the biennial Trunk festival in Sweden is also inviting submissions. This year’ss festival will take place between 21-25 November. A special jury prize of 15 000 skr will be given to the outhor of the best video. The deadline is 31 August and it’s free to apply.
