(04/06/07) – The 8th Seoul International Film Festival is open for entries. For the official competition section, only works completed after January 2006 may be submitted to the festival. Submissions should be creative works produced or adopted through digital technology. There are no restrictions regarding the genre, length or subject matter of the work and all types of works, including fiction, documentary, experimental work, music video, animation, motion graphic, flash animation, game, web-art, etc. will be accepted. The festival also has a Net Section to introduce visual artists all over the world lead the new audio-visual experiences based on the Internet and New Media. Deadline is 13 July.

In the UK, Talent Circle is calling for short films for its 4th annual Super Shorts film festival.Films should be no longer than five minutes in length, made in the last year by UK film-makers. This year’s theme is "passion". The deadline for entries is 30 June.

Elsewhere the Tehran International Shortfilm Festival is accepting submissions until 31 July. The festival, organised by the Iranian Young Cinema Society, is the biggest of its kind in the country
