(31/08/07) – Birds Eye View, a festival for women filmmakers, is looking for documentaries, features, short films, new media artworks and more for the 2008 Festival. The event will open on 06 March for six days of shorts, features, documentaries, as well as interactive new technology artwork exhibitions, special events, panels and parties. All events will be held at leading London film venues. Key events will involve celebrity presenters and guest speakers. Deadline: 03 November (UK entries) and 12 November (International entries).
RAW, an ongoing series of video art screenings in Brooklyn is inviting applications from both international and domestic video artists. There is no deadline and the events take place at Monkeytown, Williamsburg. All genres are considered (except music videos) and works must be under 20 minutes. No entry fees are charged. Radical Reels: Five Minutes of Mayhem is a new short experimental film competition taking place in conjunction with TheCompass of Resistance International Film Festival in Bristol on 21 October. Films submitted must be no longer than five minutes. There will be prizes for Best Film, Most Experimental Film & Audience Award, plus additional Young Film-maker prize. Prizes and judges tba. The deadline is 26 September.
