(30/11/06) – The deadline is approaching for submissions to the 2007 Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Filmmakers have until 8 December to submit their works, with a late entry deadline on 5 January. Also in America, South by South West is acceping films of up to 40 minutes in length in several categories, including music video and experimental. Final deadline is 8 December. Over in Europe, IndieLisboa in Portugal is open to receive film applications as well. The organisation says that the festival’s remit is " to discover new films and new directors, in the universe of independent cinema." The event has been happening for only three years, but it has become a major fixture of the Portuguese film calendar, with an audience of 28,000 people and 300 professional guests.
